Two Fawn Paintings

There are two stories behind these two little cuties..
The first fawn...
When I was about 5 years old, my uncle Keith rescued a fawn whose mother had been hit by a car and raised her on his ranch in Beavercreek, Oregon. Her name was Ninny, and she and I were about the same maturity level, so we were fast friends. She even let me ride on her back. A few years later, she ran off to join a nearby herd of deer, and tragically, my uncle Keith died in an accident about a year later.
Fast forward to 2025, and the world is a harsh place compared to when I was running around Beavercreek with Ninny at age 5, but fawns remind everyone that even though there is suffering in the world, there is also goodness, sweetness, and beauty, just like the time I spent with Ninny.

The second fawn...
Ever been outside, on your phone, and happened to look up at just the right time to see something amazing?
It happened to me...I was working, looked up, and out the window, and saw a fawn and her mom resting in the grass. If I hadn't taken a minute to just look up and enjoy the surroundings, I would have missed them
That’s one of the reasons I painted this little cutie —to remind us to be present with the natural world. We are a part of it!
Fawn 1 and Fawn 2 originals are available for sale.
