Nut is the Egyptian Goddess of the Sky. She is portrayed by ancient Egyptian artists as a woman stretched over the earth, dark blue in color and covered in stars.
I painted her while on a 3 month trip to Egypt in 2003. You see, I was working at a crappy temp job that laid me off every year for 3 months so they wouldn't have to pay benefits. It was cheaper for me to fly to Egypt and get an apartment there for $300/month than to stay in California. It was also a lot more fun.
This painting is painted on papyrus which is mounted on a 9 x 12 stretched canvas.
