Our Story
The Story of Katie Miranda Jewelry
I’ve always been an artist, but In 2005, my world got turned upside down. While volunteering with the International Solidarity Movement in Palestine, I saw firsthand what injustice looked like. I watched the Palestinian people being treated unfairly on their own land by the Israeli forces who were now occupying it. For them, the freedom I took for granted on a daily basis was a fight.
I believe all people deserve freedom and justice. Because of this, I’ve turned jewelry into a vehicle for change.
My background is in illustration which I studied at the Academy of Art University, receiving a BFA and an MFA. I began exploring jewelry in 2009 after studying Arabic calligraphy in Palestine with award winning calligrapher Ehab Thabet. I started experimenting with Arabic calligraphy jewelry when those interests inevitably melded.
And these small creations make a big impact…
When you wear my products, people will ask: “What does it mean?” or “What language is that?” That’s what I love about this art. It not only lets you express yourself and be free in who you are, but it also gives you an opportunity to spark conversations about subjects dear to you.
Now, it’s my hope that you will join me as an agent of change and help spread the freedom and justice all human beings truly deserve! Special wholesale discounts are available to businesses and non-profits aligned with freedom and justice. Contact us for rates. Stores and resellers include:
