At Close Range: a Study Series
From time to time, I like to do studies that help me prepare for larger works. For the first time, I'm offering these to the public to collect. These are developed with the same rigor and intention as larger pieces. Each piece is 8 x 8 inches, painted on birch wood. Contact me if you are interested in any or all of them.
Lady and a Black Cat
A lady opens an ancient Mediterranean door. It could be in Palestine, Lebanon, or Crete. She sees a cat outside. Is it the first time she sees the cat that she goes on to adopt? Or was it her long, faithful companion, meowing outside for her to let it in? It could be one of many stories of a Mediterranean door, a woman, and a cat.

Mediterranean Cats
Just three friends looking out at the Mediterranean. It could be the Amalfi Coast, Santorini, or Tyre. They're enjoying the sun and dreaming of fresh fish. The painting is on top of a menu from Bethany's Table, one of my favorite local eateries. The edges are copper leaf.

Mediterranean Portal 1
Open a portal to another world. We're going to have to do it sooner or later. We can choose to do it now or let it be chosen for us. Which do you choose? The painting is on top of a menu from Bethany's Table, one of my favorite local eateries. The edges are copper leaf.

Nabataean Portal 1
An ancient architectural door inspired by the Nabataean civilization that built Petra in Jordan and Medain Saleh in Saudi Arabia. This portal leads to a new world, a new dimension, or new wisdom. The portal itself is copper leaf.

These paintings are available. Send me a message if you are interested.
